Grand Master Kamal Samer and other great masters are participating in teaching WPTF's annual short-term training course. He achieved a 9th dan black belt in Taekwondo from the World Taekwondo Academy -Kukkiwon (the highest level). He currently teaches at 5 Canadian universities. There are 500 athletes, including 25 of the top "undefeated" athletes from Canada.

What do you think about this course?
Grand Master Kamal Samer: The World Police Taekwondo Federation (WPTF) organized a highly successful seminar, benefiting numerous Taekwondo practitioners. Special thanks to WPTF Grand Master Bang for supporting this event and bringing the seminar to Seoul.
Dear Grand Master, do you still remember how you felt in 1988 when you brought home the Olympic Taekwondo bronze medal for Jordan?
Grand Master Kamal Samer: Yes, the memories remain vivid! Winning the bronze medal in 1988 was an incredible feeling, a mix of pride, joy, and relief. Representing Jordan on the Olympic podium was an honor, and I felt grateful to have made my country proud. I was honored being rewarded by His Majesty King Hussein Bin Talal of Jordan.
After winning the medal, what opportunities opened up for you?
Grand Master Kamal Samer: Winning the medal opened doors to new opportunities, including teaching and coaching. I was able to share my knowledge and experience with others, which has been incredibly rewarding. It also led to recognition and respect within the Taekwondo and sports community.

Why did the Grand Master choose to develop his career in Canada?
Grand Master Kamal Samer: I choose Canada for its welcoming culture, diversity, and opportunities. I wanted to share my passion for Taekwondo with a new generation, and Canada provided the perfect environment. I'm proud to be teaching at 5 Taekwondo centers and contributing to the growth of Taekwondo in this great country.
Great master, do you know what the life of Taekwondo athletes is like after winning an Olympic medal?
Grand Master Kamal Samer: Life after winning an Olympic medal can be challenging. Athletes face pressure to perform, sponsor expectations, and media scrutiny. However, it's also a tremendous opportunity to inspire others, share their expertise, and give back to the sport. I've been fortunate to balance competition, teaching, and mentoring.

Would you please share a few words about the situation of Taekwondo at the 2024 Olympic Games taking place in Paris?
Grand Master Kamal Samer: Taekwondo is stronger than ever! The 2024 Paris Olympics showcased the sport's global growth, skill, and excitement. I'm proud to see the next generation of athletes pushing boundaries and innovating techniques. As a Grand Master, I'm committed to supporting and developing Taekwondo's future stars.
