The First Austria–Vietnam High-Tech and Innovation Forum convened in Vienna on the morning of May 16, bringing together more than 100 leading scientists, technology experts, and prominent businesses from both countries—including FPT, VNPT, SOVICO, and IISA, IAP-UNIDO… Vietnam’s Deputy Prime Minister Nguyễn Chí Dũng delivered a keynote address via video link.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Austria Vu Le Thai Hoang stated that his country appreciates European technology—particularly that of Austria—and seeks to expand this partnership for the benefit of both nations.
He pointed out that technology plays an important role in creating livable, greener, and more resilient cities.

For his part, the director of a technology company called for the development of an innovative project based on artificial intelligence and data, integrating new data sources, advanced technologies, and strategic partnerships to transform urban environments into smarter cities and support climate resilience.

He highlighted the importance of leveraging European expertise in the field of the green economy and working together to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

At the conclusion of the forum, the Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) and the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) signed a memorandum of understanding to formalize their cooperation.
