
Ambassador Sultan Salmeen Al-Mansoori, Qatar's ambassador to Vienna
Ambassador Al-Mansouri said in an exclusive statement to the correspondent of the Middle East News Agency in Vienna that Qatar's hosting of the tournament is a source of pride for the entire Arab world, pointing to Qatar's well-preparedness for the tournament over the past years, according to the latest environmentally friendly systems, technologies and infrastructure.
The ambassador added that the European reaction, especially the Austrian media, was positive and well supportive of Qatar.
It is noteworthy that the ceremony was held in one of Vienna's major hotels, and included the ambassador's speech, watching the opening match, and distributing souvenirs. Care was also taken to invite some Ecuadorean fans to the ceremony.
