Focus on a Short-Term Economic Vision
In Italy, politics tends to concentrate on a short-term economic vision, characterized by savings and tactical considerations. Political decisions often lean towards immediate solutions, neglecting the necessary investments for a sustainable future. This approach risks compromising not only economic stability but also geopolitical standing. In a constantly evolving international context, it is essential for Italy to adopt a more forward-looking perspective, capable of integrating economic needs with a comprehensive strategic vision.
Opportunism and Credibility
Another distinguishing element of Italian politics is an opportunism that can sometimes be excessive. This attitude can undermine the country's reputation as a reliable actor on the international stage. It is crucial for Italy to develop relationships based on trust and collaboration, rather than temporary alliances and short-term interests. A more coherent and serious approach could strengthen Italy's position, making it a more desirable partner for other nations.
Weakness in Relations with Libya and Albania
Additionally, Italy's relationships with Libya and Albania, both former protectorates, are marked by a lack of strong ties. In Libya, a crucial strategic point for Italy's security and economy, the Italian government has often hesitated to build solid and lasting relationships, opting for a reactive rather than a proactive approach. Similarly, despite geographical proximity and historical connections with Albania, the absence of a solid partnership limits Italy's influence in the region. Strengthening these relationships could enhance Italy’s strategic position in both North Africa and the Balkans, contributing to regional stability.
Challenges in Managing Immigration
Finally, the management of migration flows represents one of the most significant challenges for Italy. The country faces a constant influx of migrants, but the government’s response is often disorganized and ineffective. The integration of these individuals should not be viewed solely as a burden, but as an opportunity to enrich Italian society culturally and economically. An intelligent and inclusive approach could not only improve the conditions for migrants but also contribute to a more cohesive and resilient Italy.

The two Kings Philippe and Van der Bellen havedifferent backgrounds, one is of royal origin, and the other is a child of a refugee family (once of noble origin) but now, in the eyes of the European public, both of them are giving off a sense of courtesy, virtue and erudition.
