President Nguyen Xuan Phuc congratulated Ambassador Frew on his assignment in Vietnam and, at the same time, congratulated the United Kingdom on the appointment of its new Prime Minister, Liz Truss. President Phuc expressed his hope that the two countries will continue to foster effective and deeper cooperation in the future.

With the UK-Vietnam diplomatic relations celebrating their 50th anniversary in 2023, Ambassador Iain Frew stated that the UK remains committed to expanding cooperation with Viet Nam in a variety of fields, including socioeconomic development, green energy transition, and the common goal of maintaining regional and international peace and stability.
