Media Resonance and a Humanitarian Message

WAJ: The Grand Finale of Miss Sea Vietnam Global 2025 just took place on the evening of June 28 in Ha Long, Quang Ninh, Vietnam. How would you evaluate the media impact and public response of the competition?

Mr. Ly Minh Tuan, Head of the Organizing Committee: In the current context, especially during June when more than three beauty contests were taking place at the same time, Miss Sea Vietnam Global 2025, with its distinct approach, created a strong media impact. From the initial launch to the final night in Ha Long, the competition's image continuously appeared across news platforms, social media, and television.
The public response extended beyond the appreciation of beauty; it also recognized the humanitarian message, the spirit of marine environmental protection, and the promotion of Vietnamese tourism. This clearly demonstrates the power of a cultural event when it is methodically organized, in-depth, and well-directed.
The event was warmly received by the people of Ha Long City, Quang Ninh Province, with nearly 10,000 people watching live.
Especially, the Q&A round was a thoughtful communication highlight—with simple yet insightful questions that allowed contestants to expand their thinking and express sharper viewpoints.

“New Era of Beauty” and the Spirit of Integration

WAJ: How was the theme “New Era of Beauty” expressed through the competition segments and stage design? What, in your opinion, is the most striking symbol of this spirit?

Mr. Ly Minh Tuan: The theme “New Era of Beauty” was expressed throughout—from stage design and competition rounds to communication messages. The stage at Sun Carnival Square shone with modern lighting, blended with imagery of ocean waves, the sun, and pearls—symbols of wisdom, love for the sea, and community responsibility.
The most striking highlight was the crown worth VND 3.6 billion, crafted from white gold, diamonds, and sapphires, shaped like ocean waves and the sun—a symbol of integrated, courageous, and sustainable beauty.

WAJ: As Vietnam promotes its marine and island tourism, how do you see this year’s pageant contributing to the national strategy of global promotion?

Mr. Ly Minh Tuan: This year’s pageant serves as a form of “soft diplomacy” in Vietnam’s strategy to promote its marine and island tourism. Holding the event in Ha Long—a UNESCO World Heritage Site—not only honors the beauty of the sea but also stimulates both domestic and international tourism.
Notably, after the coronation, the new Miss and the runner-ups will take on the role of communication ambassadors in tourism campaigns, marine environment protection, and cultural exchange programs across various regions.

The Vision of a National Brand

WAJ: The organizing committee incorporated various community and environmental activities. Do you believe this year’s winner truly conveyed those values?

Mr. Ly Minh Tuan: Nguyen Hoai Phuong Anh, the new Miss from Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu, not only possesses striking beauty but also demonstrates progressive thinking and a strong sense of social responsibility. In the Q&A round, she chose the sea turtle—a symbol of resilience and ocean conservation—to deliver her environmental message.
Throughout the journey, she and fellow contestants participated in many community activities such as beach cleanups, awareness art campaigns, and visits to heroic Vietnamese mothers. This shows that this year’s title represents not only personal glory but also a commitment to community action.

WAJ: This is the second time the pageant has been held, following the first in 2018. Compared to the previous edition, what was most significantly elevated in 2025?

Mr. Ly Minh Tuan: Compared to the first season in 2018, the 2025 pageant made clear progress:
• Event scale: A grand outdoor stage with international-standard sound and lighting.
• Contestant quality: Diverse regional backgrounds with intellectual and communicative depth.
• Social messaging: Closely tied to current issues like marine protection, green tourism, and women in the digital age.
Notably, having two Second Runner-ups instead of one was a new feature—reflecting flexibility and honoring the diversity of Vietnamese beauty.

WAJ: Has this pageant truly reached international standards? Are there any regrets or missing elements, in your opinion?

Mr. Ly Minh Tuan: The competition has approached international standards in terms of organization, media, and messaging. However, to fully meet global standards, several aspects need improvement:
• Enhancing multilingual elements to reach international audiences.
• Expanding partnerships with global beauty organizations to boost credibility.
• International media outreach remains modest; we need a more strategic and professional approach to bring the competition to the world.

WAJ: After this success, do you hope to develop the competition into an annual national brand—representing Vietnam’s marine beauty on the global beauty map?

Mr. Ly Minh Tuan: I believe that, with this year’s success, Miss Sea Vietnam Global can absolutely become a national annual brand—representing Vietnam’s marine beauty on the global beauty map. It is not just a beauty contest, but a platform for culture, tourism, and the environment—where resilience, intellect, and compassion converge.
If organized regularly with long-term strategy and support from government agencies, businesses, and the media, the competition will become a “cultural sail” bringing Vietnam’s image far and wide.

WAJ: Thank you very much!
