Dear friends and partners of Norway in Vietnam,
My name is Hilde Solbakken. Today I have presented my credentials to the President of Vietnam Nguyễn Xuân Phúc and officially become Norwegian Ambassador to Vietnam. It is a great honor for me to represent Norway in Vietnam. Our two countries have already enjoyed five decades of good relations. Norway and Vietnam share the goals of combating climate change, keeping the oceans healthy and productive, and speeding up the transition to renewable energy. We both depend on upholding international rule of law and share many interests in the multilateral arena. As Ambassador of Norway, I will work with Vietnamese and international partners, and like-minded friends in Vietnam, to push these goals forward.
I look forward to immersing myself in Vietnamese history and culture. Likewise, we will look for opportunities to share ours with the Vietnamese people. My husband, our daughter and I cannot wait to travel around your beautiful country and make new friends here. We are already enjoying Vietnamese food very much!
I am a strong believer in mutual respect, trust and cooperation. These principles will be the foundation for my work when I continue to build on the strong relationship between Norway and Vietnam.
I look forward to working with you all and hope to see many of you at the Norwegian Embassy’s upcoming activities.
