On the evening of May 29th, 2022, hundreds of Buddhists and family members in Czech Republic attended the 2022 Great Buddhist Festival (Buddha calendar 2566) which was solemnly held at Sapa Trade Center in Prague, Czech Republic.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam in the Czech Republic, as well as officials and staff from the Embassy of Vietnam, leaders of the Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic, monks and nuns, Buddhists, and expats living in the country and Europe all attended this event.
Great Buddhist Festival 2022 in Czech Republic
The Vietnamese Buddhist minority in the Czech Republic is being congratulated by Ambassador Thai Xuan Dung at the ceremony. The Ambassador noted that the Great Buddha Festival is a religious event with historically spiritual humanitarian significance. It helps to uphold traditional cultural values and spiritual life while also fostering community unity and solidarity.
Buddhists and Buddhist-lovers from the Vietnam Buddhist Association's Central Committee in the Czech Republic attended the festival to hear Acting Dharma Chairman of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, deliver the message of this Great Buddha Festival (Buddhist calendar 2566). In a solemn atmosphere, the entire temple also performed the rituals of offering incense to the Buddha, lighting candles to commemorate the Buddha's birth, praying for peace, sentient beings to be at tranquility, and bathing the Buddha.
