The German Foreign Ministry, the German Musicians' Association, the Goethe Institute, the European Cultural Organization, producer of guitars Roger Yang, and a number of other organizations and associations are supporting and sponsoring for this competition.
This year's competition (2022) features 15 contestants from 11 countries: Italy, Spain, Germany, Paraguay, Austria, Chile, South Korea, Poland, France, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg.
Because of the covid-19 pandemic, rounds 1 and 2 were conducted via online. As a result, three contestants from Italy, Spain, and Paraguay were chosen as finalists and invited to Germany to compete for first, second, and third place on October 15, 2022 in Berlin.
The program is divided into three sections:
- 14:00: the competition of the last round
- 18:00: Special guests performance
- 20:00 Awards ceremony to winning contestants and performances from them.
