Profile of the King

Genghis Khan was a legendary political leader who is still remembered for establishing the powerful Mongol dynasty. Having experienced destitution at a young age, he grew up with a desire for power and respect. His mother taught him everything he knows about Mongolian politics since his father died when he was a child. The young man began his conquests gradually and was eventually successful in uniting many nomadic tribes. He is still remembered for his religious tolerance and protective demeanor. Today, this famous ruler is a symbol of patriotism in Mongolia, and his name and face are used to help sell almost every product in the country. Though he is still revered in Mongolia, people in other countries, such as China, have mixed feelings about him. While his empire, known as the 'Yuan dynasty,' helped unite most of China, his conquests also resulted in the deaths of many people. In other parts of the world, such as the Middle East, Genghis Khan is still reviled for destroying so many lives. Regardless of how people feel about him, he is still one of the most important figures in Mongolian and world history.
